I got a tweet a few weeks back requesting for a food timetable for students and I had to oblige! It’s free and I hope it is a useful resource for students (please share). For non-students you can download my extensive food time table HERE - you will get meal ideas and Inspo that will last you for months!
Here's a sample Nigerian food timetable for students:
Monday:
Breakfast: Akara and Bread (Risky burger)
Lunch: Noodle & Chopped Vegetables + Egg
Dinner: Fish Stew & Sweet Potato
Tuesday:
Breakfast: Dodo and Scrambled Eggs
Lunch: Stewed Beans and Ijebu Garri ( I had to be specific lol)
Dinner: Stir fry Macaroni
Wednesday:
Breakfast: Moi Moi (bean pudding) & Oats
Lunch: Ofada Rice with dodo.
Dinner: Eba and Ogbono Soup.
Thursday:
Breakfast: Custard & Akara
Lunch: Beans & Dodo
Dinner: Spaghetti & Boiled Egg
Friday:
Breakfast: Akamu (pap) with milk and sugar.
Lunch: Ogbono Soup & Fufu
Dinner: Jollof Spaghetti
Saturday:
Breakfast: French Toast + grapes
Lunch: Fish Stew & Sweet Potato
Dinner: Fufu and Ogbono Soup.
Sunday:
Breakfast: Boiled Yam with Scrambled eggs
Lunch: Rice and fish stew + steamed carrots
Dinner: Eba and Ogbono Okra soup. (Add Okra on the 3rd day and watch your soup come back to life!)
Notes:
1 Soup per week - I choose Ogbono because the more you reheat it, the yummier it becomes, and a small portion of Ogbono seeds can make a big pot of Ogbono Soup. Add N50 Uziza leaves and Thank me later.
If you have time, you can make Akara/Moin Moin - 1 cup of beans can make enough Akara or Moin Moin. Unless you want to purchase. N100 Naira Akara and Bread N100/150 will do the job.
Staples for food should include: Yam, Milk, Eggs, Noodles, Garri, Bread, Custard, Oil, Rice, Pasta, Salt, Sugar.
Add Tomato Puree to your stew to make it thicker and go a long way.
This sample food timetable provides a balanced and nutritious diet for students. It includes a variety of staple foods, vegetables, and protein sources. It can be adjusted to suit individual preferences and dietary restrictions.

Thanks for this. But grapes on a sapa budget? This must be for 'omo olowo' students!
